Chief Wellbeing Officer Children's Mercy Kansas City

Angela L. Myers, MD, MPH, is a Professor of Pediatrics at UMKC SOM and served as Division Director of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at CMKC from 2018–2025 and transitioned to Chief Wellbeing Officer in 2025 after serving as the Medical Director since 2021. Under her leadership, her hospital was one of two children’s hospital to reach AMA Joy in Medicine Gold level recognition for their wellbeing work. She has served on the boards of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, the American Board of Pediatrics Pediatric ID Sub-board, the Council of Pediatric Subspecialties, and the AAP Committee on Infectious Diseases. Her ID research has primarily focused on vaccine acceptance, and her wellbeing research has focused on connectivity at work. She speaks regionally and nationally on wellbeing topics. She recently spoke on a panel discussing mental health in healthcare at the inaugural meeting of the Calm app, and recorded sessions on caring for caregivers and physician resilience & burnout for the Movement is the Medicine and The Scrubbed In Series podcasts.
